The group, for all affected by cardiac issues, meets weekly to set out on a gentle pace - with rests when needed - and share experience.
Heartbeat Ballarat secretary Barry Nixon said Heart Week was a great chance for people to learn more about the community support group.
Heart Foundation promotes walking health benefits to include: managing weight, blood pressure and cholesterol; preventing diabetes; reduce the risk of some cancers; maintaining bone density; and, improving balance and coordination.
Mr Nixon said walking in a group also helped motivation and feel connected.
Walking is low-impact and the Heartbeat group ensures their walk is suitable for those beginning cardiac recovery through to rehabilitation graduates and loved ones.
To join in the health walk, meet outside Ballarat Yacht Club on Tuesday at 10am.
