Sydney Kings have signed Bruce, who is originally from Horsham, on a one-year deal.
He made his NBL debut with the Cairns Taipans in 2013 before going to Brisbane Bullets in 2016.
He spent last season as an injury replacement player with Adelaide 36ers.
Bruce travelled to New Zealand last year to play with Wellington Saints in the NZNBL.
He is the second member of his family to play with the Kings, with his older brother Aaron also doing so.
Bruce joins other former Miners Nathan Sobey and Craig Moller on the move in the NBL.
An Australian Boomer, Sobey has left Adelaide after five years to join the Brisbane Bullets.
Moller is returning to Sydney, where started out as a development player before spending time in Ballarat and then being picked up by Melbourne United.
