Co-coach Heath Pyke said about 50 players had made themselves available for selection and was pleased with the final group that had been assembled.
Buninyong has the most representatives with five, while Gordon, Waubra and reigning premiers Beaufort all have four.
A total of 12 clubs have players on the list.
The RSM Central Highlands squad will have a recovery session on Sunday, May 12 and then training runs at Learmonth the following Tuesday and Bungaree on the Thursday before the match on Saturday, May 18.
The final team can be made up of 23 players.
Pyke said it had been good to be able to pick a squad based on structure and was pleased with the versatility available within the playing group.
He said it was likely a vote from the players would determine who took on the captain's role.
The Central Highlands Football League recently withdrew from a double-header at Mars Stadium and will host the North Central competition at Learmonth.
Pyke and his co-coach Rohan Brown will be looking to lead the Highlanders to their first win since 2015.
The North Central side suffered a narrow loss to the Southern league in last year's championships.
