Stuhldreier's initial squad has already been knocked around by injury and players declaring themelves unavailable.
What started out as a list of 56 has been trimmed to a pool of about 35. This includes players under injury clouds still wanting to play for the Navy Blues.
Stuhldreier said while it was always disappointing to have players drop out, inter-league campaigns were all about getting together a committed group of players who wanted to be part of it.
He said he was confident there was enough talent in the competition to cover those who had chosen not to be part of the championships.
The shape of the BFL line-up will also be determined by the availability of VFL-listed players.
The squad trains at Melton Recreation Reserve on Tuesday, Bacchus Marsh on Sunday, May 12, and the City Oval on Thursday, May 16.
Squad members with injury issues include Tom Brownbridge (knee), Nick Weightman (hamstring), Ben Archard (hamstring), Harrison King (hamstring), Matt Austin (shoulder) and Keegan Mellington (abductor).
HAMPDEN coach and Brisbane Lions legend Jonathon Brown has named 45-man squad.
