More than 100 riders including juniors, world champions and athletes mixed in with keen riders will gather from all corners of Australia to participate in the MTBA National Cup event.
The grassroots event is hosted by Creswick-based VOGA Cycle Club, who applied for and received Tier 2 National Cup Status for this year's event, reflecting its continual growth.
Competitors will take to the trails in either 25 or 50-kilometre events with a new addition to this year's event the e-bike category.
Creswick is becoming a haven for riders, with the unveiling of the Hammon Park Pump track and planning underway on the Creswick Trails project.
Hepburn Shire Council Mayor Don Henderson said all of the more than 100-kilometre network of trails for the project had now been marked out and were pending approval. The project, which will cost just shy of $3 million is progressing well, according to Cr Henderson.
Apart from the national Brackenbury event, in a few weeks Creswick will play host to the state Victorian CX Series.
"And once the trails are built we'll be able to attract a lot more national and statewide events," Cr Henderson said.
Racing will begin at 10.30am on Saturday, May 11 at Creswick's Hammon Park.
