Almost 400 riders and their horses teamed up for dressage, showjumping and crowd-favourite cross-country in the three-day meet, finishing on Sunday afternoon in the Ballarat Equestrian Centre at Victoria Park.
These trials were the 12th consecutive year hosted by Friends of Ballarat Eventing Association, this time with improved facilities and more jumps to challenge riders, including a major dressage arena upgrade.
Course officials kept a close eye on conditions for cross-country competition for which there was slight delays.
Ballarat International Horse Trials is one of Victoria's premier equestrian events and attracts riders from elite Olympic standard through to junior riders starting their competitive careers.
The event, held in partnership with Ballarat Pony Club and City of Ballarat, also featured horsewear and advice.
