Although there has been a record amount of people voting earlier throughout Australia this year, Saturday is the day where the majority of us will help shape the future of the nation.
On this page you will find everything you need to help shape your vote and, of course, find a polling booth with a sausage sizzle.
Below you will find:
- a smartvote guide to help you vote
- an introduction to Ballarat's candidates
- a polling booth map, featuring sausage sizzles
Later on Saturday, The Courier will also run an election day live blog, with our team of journalists and photographers hitting the road to see what is happening around the Ballarat electorate.
Be sure to keep an eye on thecourier.com.au throughout the day for all the news you can't get anywhere else.
Happy election day!
Wondering which party aligns with your views? Take the smartvote Australia guide here.
Voters can explore which parties and candidates best match their own views through an online tool before federal election campaign.
The interactive platform has been built in partnership with the Australian National University, The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald in a bid to sharpen the focus on policies, better inform voters, and lift faltering public trust in politics.
The system, smartvote Australia, asks voters 35 questions about their views on social issues, taxation, immigration, the environment, foreign affairs and the budget.
Take part in the interactive here.
Where can you vote?
The Courier has compiled a complete guide of all the polling booths in the area.
