Dunnstown forward Harry McKimmie has been cleared to take his place in the Central Highlands Football League side that will take on North Central this Saturday.
McKimmie had been under an injury cloud with a hamstring issue that saw him leave the ground early during last weekend's battle with Buninyong.
He got through training on Thursday night and was named in the final team.
"From our perspective we've left it up to Harry," CHFL joint-coach Heath Pyke said.
"(Joint-coach) Rohan (Brown) contacted Dunnstown on Sunday just to make sure that we were doing the right thing if we were going to play him. To their credit, they said they took him off on Saturday as precautionary more so than anything, so he could play interleague this Saturday.
"We're really rapt to have him part of the side and fit and firing. He's an integral part of our front six. He's a really good link-up player for us moving forward."
McKimmie made his senior debut for the league in last year's AFL Victoria Community Championships battle with Riddell District and kicked four goals in the narrow defeat.
Learmonth defender Kyle Mackay was added to the squad in the past week or so but missed out on final selection in the Central Highlands side. Young Dean O'Brien (Carngham-Linton) and utility Luke Gunnell (Gordon) were others from the final group of 26 to miss the team of 23.
Brown said he felt a major strength of the Highlanders side was its height.
"We've probably got eight or nine guys over six foot, which is a bit of a luxury," he said.
"It's going to be a nice day and a nice ground at Learmonth so that's probably our key focus, to kick the ball in the air to these guys and give them every chance.
"You've got Sam Dunstan and these guys up forward that are in red-hot form, so why not give them a crack at it?"
Dunstan has set the competition alight since joining Hepburn from North Ballarat City this season. He leads the league goal-kicking chart with 32 majors from his six appearances in 2019.
The Central Highlands league is looking to win its first clash since way back in 2015 after three consecutive defeats by under a goal.
North Central is also fronting from three-straight losses. The competition lost to the Southern league by nine points in 2018, the Geelong and District boys by four points in 2017 and Central Murray by 14 points in 2016.
Saturday's match is scheduled to begin at 2.15pm with an under-18.5 curtain-raiser to start at 12noon.
The senior netball clash will start at 1.30pm.
