Emerging Dunnstown youngster Tim Collins will get his first taste of senior representative football when he lines up for the Central Highlands league in Saturday's AFL Victoria Community Championships showdown with North Central.
The onballer is the youngest player in the Highlanders team, with coaches looking to develop the 19-year-old by getting him in the interleague system.
"Going on past performances, we had to change something from an interleague perspective and we figured we'd go to the younger side more so than returning to all the people that have played representative football previously," CHFL joint-coach Heath Pyke said.
"We identified a couple of the better younger kids within the league and Tim was one of those and Dean O'Brien from Carngham-Linton as well.
"They've both been involved right through the training process and Tim is going to be the fortunate one that gets to play on Saturday. He's definitely up to playing at that level, that's for sure, so it's not just a token gesture."
Saturday's senior clash will begin at 2.15pm at Learmonth, with the under-18.5 encounter to start at 12noon. The senior netball game is scheduled at 1.30pm.
