City lost 3-0 to the Eastern Lions in the men's National Premier League 2 competition without star striker Riki Hosoai, who remains out with a knee injury.
Robinson said while Hosoai is a significant loss, it will provide opportunities for other players in his side.
"(Riki) won't be available but that's just going to give us an opportunity to continue building and improving as a unit for when he returns," he said.
Ballarat City will host Goulburn Valley Suns FC on Saturday for their round 13 contest in the NPLV2. Goulburn Valley are part of the Eastern side of the competition and sit in eight place in their standings, having managed three wins in 2019 to date.
Robinson told The Courier his side will be focusing on their own game-plan going into their cross-conference match.
