The college from Toorak has held the Victorian Schools' Rugby Union in a strangle hold for the better part of a decade, winning the division one rugby premiership each year since 2012.
The closest Silcock had come to beating the powerhouse came in 2017 when the two teams played out a 14-14 draw in Ballarat.
On Saturday that all changed, as St Pat's pulled out some late-game heroics to slay the giant in a one-point victory.
Looking back at the victory, Silcock's recollection of the game waxes and wanes.
In parts it feels like a blur and in other parts I feel like I could recall the entire 70 minutes,
- Mike Silcock
Speaking to The Courier, Silcock broke down the final few minutes of play.
"I thought it was over to be quite honest. We were 25-19 down... I was starting to make my way down the touch line to congratulate their coach and offering some commiserations to our staff.
"The referee told me there was still another minute to play... our young fullback stepped up and kicked off to restart the game and St Kevin's number 8 made an uncharacteristic mistake which gave us possession.
"We eventually got a penalty close to the try line... our flyhalf took a quick tap of the ball and went over to score making it 24-25. He then stepped up and kicked the conversion to win it."
The flyhalf in question who won St Pat's the game was year-10 student Hayce Alama, who was just a few days removed from celebrating his 16th birthday.
Silcock know's this was not just a normal win, both for himself as a coach and for the school as a whole.
"It's difficult because I see the result with my St Pat's hat on.... I've had many a crack at St Kevin's and never won so for me personally it was one of the best results I've ever had."
The win marked the first time St Pat's had ever defeated St Kevin's in rugby union.
St Pat's have enjoyed a strong start to the VSRU season, registering two wins and zero losses. Their earlier win came against emerging rugby power from Bulleen, Marcellin College.
Having knocked off two of the top teams in the competition, Silcock wants to keep his players grounded to stop them from being over-confident.
"In the grand scheme of things we've won nothing, we've won two games. I called a meeting at lunchtime on Monday and stressed with the players that we needed to refocus.
"I think I'd be foolhardy if I said there wasn't a fear of complacency... for a group of school-boys, the elation of doing something that is history making, I think I'm going to have a challenge on my hands keeping them focused on the next week."
