For subscribers there are also some more special chances to taste some of the best of Ballarat.
The annual food festival celebrates just how far Ballarat has come with its culinary pleasures and what a diverse range of events and offerings are on show.
The good news is this new world also extends to cocktails.
Some of the highlights of the week to come include a special one night event at the Mining Exchange that will take our love of coffee into a new (and sometimes highly alcoholic realm!) at the Mining Exchange this Saturday.
Mr Black cold brewed coffee liquor will host the event as part of Ballarat Heritage Weekend with some of Ballarat's finest establishments including The Lost Ones, Workshop Cafe, Lola @ The Provincial, Moon & Mountain, Mitchell Harris, Kittelty's, offering cocktails at reasonable prices.
Adam Mada - Making Magic, a fashion show by Charlotte Smith and DJ Stylus are just some of the acts adding to the entertainment and atmosphere . More information here
If your tastes are a little more traditional then consider a very special night at the Red Lion, Tuesday May 28 where the staff have dreamed up a classic with a twist; Beer, Beef and Bourbon.
Beer, Beef & Bourbon will showcase locally farmed beef from Waubra by Sinclair's Meats and dishing up four courses perfectly matched with beers and bourbons. More information here
