Daniel James Quinlan was re-sentenced to three years and one month in jail on Tuesday, having already pleaded guilty to 36 charges including burglary, theft and recklessly exposing an emergency worker to risk.
During two weeks of July 2018, Quinlan and his co-accused Ross Fish caused $17,000 damage to Ballarat businesses, including four car washes, while almost $5000 cash was stolen.
In the early hours of July 24 at Delacombe, police spotted Quinlan and Ross leaving Redan Motors on Wiltshire Lane, when he drove his silver Commodore wagon directly at a police vehicle.
The court was previously told the pair, with Quinlan at the wheel, did a u-turn before driving at the police vehicle a second time.
Prosecutors had lodged the appeal against the Black Hill man's sentence, stating it was inadequate.
Judge Frank Saccardo said the sentence by a Ballarat Magistrate in February was the "right end point, it makes sense to me".
He told the court he accepted evidence given by Quinlan's partner, where she said the period of the guilty man's offending lined up with her mental instability after the birth of their second child, causing familial stress.
"It all fits into place and explains the jigsaw puzzle of previous offending, and the (seven year) gap between it," Judge Saccardo said. "I thought she was taking some responsibility for your behaviour, which is a nonsense, you are totally responsible for your behaviour. You've let her down and your kids down."
Quinlan was given a non-parole period of 28 months, with 300 days declared as already served.
