A feature event on the local XCR calendar, the race should live up to its long and proud history of outstanding performances.
Although absent at the Wal Brown race, Amor's previous races indicate a sub 19 minutes run is on the cards. His training has been strong and consistent as he prepares to take up a USA college scholarship at New Mexico Highlands University to study commerce.
2014 winner Jack Davies, who now resides and competes in Melbourne, has indicated he will return to have another attempt at the title.
Nathan Hartigan, winner of many BRAC cross country titles, has never taken out the Lap of the Lake. With a best of 18 minutes 00 seconds in 2012, he will also be in the mix.
Strong runs should also come from YCW's Jamie Huggett and the talented Wendouree trio of Harry Sharp, Matthew Catterson and James Ham.
Named in honour of 14-time winner and distance running legend Steve Moneghetti, the man himself could also challenge for the title.
Although hampered by illness in recent weeks, Mees has bounced back and is ready to defend her title. Mees, who is still under 16, and Amor (under 20) are the youngest athletes ever to win the event.
Karla Treweek will look to add to her Wal Brown title and go one better than her close second to Mees last year. Eureka's Courtney Scott will attempt to win it for an eighth time. Rosanne Brisbane, whom the women's race is named after, claimed a record 10 triumphs.
Others to challenge for the women's title will include Rhiannon White, Kelly Ruddick, Eliza Lepair and Lily Gilbert.
Archie Caldow and Claire Mahony will be the ones to watch in the under-14 categories.
The impressive BRAC lap records - Moneghetti 16.10min (YCW; 1992) and Kylie Porter 20.17min (Eureka; 1994) - look safe, but new personal bests should be recorded from the many junior athletes showing improvement.
Athletes will also be striving to improve on their current position or get their name forever printed on the prestigious BRAC Lap of the Lake rankings list. To do this, the men must run under 20 minutes and the women under 25 minutes.
Starting from St Patrick's Point at 2pm, the under-12s will race over a 2000m out and back course. Men start at 2.15pm, followed by the women at 2.30pm.
