After losing their first two games by a combined five-goals, the Lakers have bounced back with a relentless energy, overcoming Sebastopol and Redan by 61 total goals.
Player/coach for the Lakers Katie Williams says her side are going to be difficult to stop.
"We're certainly finding our form," Williams said.
"We're working on our combinations and gelling really well, each week those connections get that much stronger which has been really great to see."
One area Williams has been particularly happy with as a coach is her side's defence, which has caused opponents issues throughout the season.
"Our work-rate and relentless pressure across the court is our biggest strength."
The Lakers are set to host the Ballarat Swans (two wins and two losses) in round five. The game will carry significant meaning for both teams as they look to solidify positions in the top-four.
Despite the Swans losing their past two contest's, Williams will not be taking the match with Ballarat lightly.
"We're going to need to keep the pressure up for the whole game, it's not going to be an easy match-up by any stretch of the imagination and they can certainly knock us off."
It's a huge game for us, we're aware that they're a really strong team and it's going to take a four-quarter effort if we're going to beat them.
- Katie Williams
The two teams met earlier in the year during a preseason tournament where the size and accuracy of the Swans goalers proved too much for Lake Wendouree.
Williams is hoping the time her side has had to gell and and develop together will lead to a more better result this time around for the Lakers.
"We played them in a pre-season and they beat us so we're very cautious. Their goalers are very accurate, they've got a few young girls who really stood out and stood up in that pre-season game.
"We've been working with some different combinations so hopefully we've been able to find something that will lead to a different result this time around."
Kara Hart and Kirsty Walsh will both return to the Lakers after representing the BFNL in the AFL Victoria Community Championships.
Walsh will be hoping to continue her great play from the loss to Hampden, where she was named at the BFNL's best player on court.
The Lakers will face the Swans at Wendouree Reserve from 2.30pm on Saturday.
