Daryl Floyd has spent decades searching for the remains of his brother Terry, who was 12 when he disappeared from the corner of the Pyrenees and Sunraysia highways in June 1975.
Almost three decades later, in 2001, a coroner determined he was abducted and murdered, but his body still has never been found.
Mr Floyd and sister Debbi are now raising money to improve child safety in rural communities. "We're focusing on bullying in the school grounds and sporting area, and it all helps to empower young kids to speak up," Mr Floyd said.
"Terry was only 12, and you'd like to think you could stop this from happening to any other child."
The foundation is sponsoring Dani McLaren, who is running seven marathons for child protection organisation Bravehearts.
