Young gun Dean O'Brien was named best for the Saints ahead of Jayson Porter and Brodie Lewis. O'Brien booted three goals, as did Jake Pring and Ross Waters.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Buninyong claimed a hard-fought win over Hepburn.

The Bombers led a low-scoring scrap for most of the day and pulled clear in the second half to win by 29 points.

Meanwhile, Gordon has added to Beaufort's woes and delivered the reigning premiers a third-straight defeat.

The Eagles kicked clear of the Crows in the second half to win by 37 points.

Adam Toohey booted eight goals in the triumph.

In other round eight games, Waubra maintained its unbeaten record with a thrashing of Learmonth, Bungaree accounted for Ballan, Newlyn thumped Rokewood-Corindhap as Marcus Darmody booted 11 majors, Curtis Townrow kicked eight as Skipton proved far too good for Clunes and Springbank beat Creswick.
