Federation University's Arts Academy is bringing the wacky world of Dr Seuss to the stage. Seussical the Musical, starring 34 third-year theatre students, is a funny, heartfelt journey into the world of Dr. Seuss. The musical weaves a story of friendship, loyalty, and love. Despite all odds, Horton and Gertrude band together to save the Whos and restore peace and unity to the Jungle of Nool. Seussical shows us the power of being unique, and the importance of fighting for your beliefs.

Small Space Music
7.30pm at the Ballaarat Mechanics Institute
Small Space Music and The Ballaarat Mechanics Institute team up again to present another concert series of live music of the highest order - Eugene Ball Louis Armstrong Project and Mary Doumany Harp Electric. It aims to bring closer together music performers and educators to the community, through live performances, workshops and discussions.

The Queen Bohemian Rhapsody Show has been working hard to reproduce the sound and look of Queen featuring incredibly talented frontman Thomas Crane who not only looks and sounds like Freddie Mercury, but is a consummate piano player. This Queen show is as close as it gets to the real Queen. You will hear all the great hits like We Will Rock You, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Are The Champions, Radio Ga Ga, A Kind of Magic, I Want To Break Free, Another One Bites the Dust and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Liz Souter Retrospective: Four decades of basketmaking
Art Gallery of Ballarat at 4pm.
Liz Souter turned basket-making into an art form, creating sculptural works from home-grown and recycled materials. Her stitched baskets, made from threads such as precious silks and indigo dyed camel hair, could take many hours to make. She travelled widely absorbing influences from other cultures but was always original with a richness and fine eye for decorative touches. Curated by Kate Souter

As Sovereign Hill's Gold Museum celebrates its 40th Anniversary, an exhibition 'Wonderful Things: Celebrating 40 Years of the Gold Museum', pays homage to its vast collections, showcasing everything from taxidermy, fashion and art, to pharmacology and weaponry.

With 420 works and 200+ photos hung in 2018 we look forward to another fabulous display of exceptional quality artwork at our 2019 event. The Pyrenees has a very healthy and continually growing art scene as many people make either their tree change or family lifestyle choice and move into the region. Many local artists enter works into the exhibition along with a growing number of works from Intrastate and now interstate which adds wonderful depth to the exhibition.
Ballarat Antique Collectables and Vintage Bazaar
Saturday (10am-5pm), Sunday (10am-4pm) and Monday 10am-3pm at Civic Hall. Cost is $5 (receives $1 discount off Devonshire tea or lunch)
Dealers from Victoria, Sydney and South Australia will converge on Civic Hall with their artworks, silver, porcelian, china, linens and much more. Scones, sandwiches and coffee also available.
Bar choir at Hop Temple
Hop Temple, Armstrong Street North, from 2pm
The team at Bar Choir will bring their voices and a guitar, project the lyrics onto the wall and teach a well-known song in three-part harmony to the Hop crowd while you enjoy a few drinks. You can either come along and participate, or just take in the spectacle - and it's free.

Join Ballarat vocal group VOX as they plunder the movie archives for some great songs. The concert includes some well-known favourites and more recent hits, song in fantastic a cappella arrangements or with accompaniment by Wendy Rechenberg. You'll hear songs of love and death, classic themes from the 60s, opera from the movies and hits from block-busters.
