The Bloods put the game out Redan's reach with a superior opening half.
Melton went to the main break 35 points up and went on to salute by 41 points - 15.12 (102) to 9.7 (61).
Melton coach Aaron Tymms said it had been crucial for the Bloods to respond after a loss to Sunbury.
"We were well and truly down on our contested footy and our tackling last week, pretty much down in all numbers. This week we sent those numbers through the roof, so that was really pleasing," he said.
Redan coach Jarrett Giampaolo said the Lions' intensity, or lack thereof, was a concern.
"We were disappointed in our intensity, especially in the first half."
This gives Melton four wins from six games to reinforce its standing as a potential top two team.
SUNBURY ran all over Lake Wendouree in the second half to end two years without a win on a Ballarat ground.
Coach Travis Hodgson said it had been 721 days since the Lions had last tasted success in Ballarat.
"It gets a big monkey off our back."
Lake Wendouree led by 15 points at half-time, but managed only three more goals for the rest of the day to Sunbury's 11 at CE Brown Reserve.
Final scores: Sunbury 16.16 (112) to Lake Wendouree 10.16 (76)
Lake Wendouree finished the day with just two players on interchange after losing Joel O'Connell to concussion in the third term and Josh Bibby to suspected concussion in the last quarter.
Sunbury's Mick Edwards was reported and yellow carded (sent from the ground for 15 minutes) after making head high contact with O'Connell.
Bibby received a knock when thrown to the ground in what umpires deemed as a sling tackle.
It was while Edwards was off and Sunbury down to 17 players on the field that the Lions took control of the game.
SEBASTOPOL strung together a second win in a row at the expense of Melton South at Marty Busch Reserve.
The Burra kept the Panthers goalless in the first half on its way to an 89-point victory - 17.12 (114) to 3.7 (25).
Melton South was in the game well into the second quarter in almost every facet except the scoreboard.
Sebastopol gave the Panthers no breathing space in their forward line, while in its own attacking half James Keeble, Tom Petersen and Toby Thoolen dominated in the air.
After a slow start, Sebastopol now has a 3:3 record and well placed mid-table.
BACCHUS Marsh showed it is far from a spent force by overcoming arch-rival Darley at Maddingley Park.
Darley has had the wood on the Cobras for sometime, but on this occasion it was the home side which took the honours.
The Marsh edged away in the second half to get the points 10.14 (74) to 8.3 (51).
NORTH Ballarat City plays East Point at Mars Stadium on Sunday.
