Coach Damon Minotti was full of praise for the efforts of Ballarat in the 50th Volleyball Victoria Country Championships in Bendigo despite being unable to get a win.

He said while results did not go as the division one men's team would have liked, he was pleased with the performance overall.
Ballarat took on Bendigo, Sunraysia, Latrobe Valley and Horsham, which won the title.
Minotti said the up-and-coming Jack Carey grew in confidence with every game, dominating at times through the middle as did the experienced Anthony Pearce in his first tournament for Ballarat.
He said Riley Harrison and Mahesh Thuse made significant contributions off the bench and after missing the opening match Matthew Hallowell hit form. Ballarat went closest to a win against Bendigo, losing in five sets.
More than 40 teams from 11 regional associations contested six divisions.
