The expo will provide information on assessment services, domestic assistance, property maintenance, personal care, social support, respite and eligibility requirements for care.
Golden Plains Shire Mayor Cr Owen Sharkey said in a written statement access to services like the Home and Community Care Program, including for younger people, was essential for many residents to maintain their independence.
"The Home and Community Care Program is a valuable community service program that often flies under the radar, despite making a huge difference to the lives of participants," she said.
"This expo is a great opportunity for locals to find out more about this vital program, and to chat with council's community care officers about matching services with their needs."
The Home and Community Care Program provides support for both older and younger residents whose capacity for independent living is at risk.
Services are targeted to residents requiring assistance with daily living, and their carers.
In its Draft Budget 2019/20, Golden Plains Shire Council included $130,000 on the provision of individual and group support services for eligible residents.
The expo will be held from 10am to 4pm on Wednesday 26 June at the Meredith Memorial Hall, 61 Staughton Street, Meredith. Entry is free and guests will be provided with a free barbecue lunch.
