Ballarat business Musket and Bayonet Barber and Shaving Saloon generously donated the full amount of funds being sought by Cafs for the beds.
Earlier:
CHILD AND Family Services (Cafs) Ballarat is appealing for public assistance so it can purchase beds for two young children from a Ballarat family that is struggling financially.
The children are aged five and seven and one has special needs. The children do not currently have their own beds and so Cafs would like to purchase them some in order to give the family a leg up.
Christie's Furniture Wendouree has offered to sell the beds for half price at $200 each so Cafs is looking for $400 in public donations to make the purchase.
A spokesperson from Cafs said the family was being supported by family members while Cafs was supporting them with food and other essential items but it only has so much money in its budget to help each client.
Donations to Cafs can be made here. For more information on how to donate contact thanks@cafs.org.au or phone 03 5337 1624.
