Trivia night
North Ballarat Sports Club from 6.30pm. Cost from $15.
Enjoy a night of trivia fun while raising money for Restore One Charity Cambodia, helping Cambodian children get an education and health care.
Get a table together (8-10 works best, but don't worry if you have less) and beat the opposition for bragging rights and awesome prizes.
Bistro meals can be purchased early in the evening (before we start is best) and drinks are at bar prices.
As this is a fundraising event, if you have any products or services you would like to donate for us to raffle off on the night, they would be gratefully received (Movie vouchers, books, dinner vouchers, PT/Yoga sessions, wine, etc).

After World War 1 the Soldiers' Settlement scheme was established throughout Australia with South Australia first enacting legislation in 1915.
In Victoria the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act of 1917 established the scheme in this State.
Until 1934, 11,639 returned servicemen were allocated blocks under the scheme. Unfortunately not all were successful.
This exhibition will tell the stories of those who took up land in our district.

Fundraising for A Pot of Courage - Ballarat enterprise employing and empowering women from diverse cultural backgrounds; Ballarat Refugee and Asylum Seeker Support Network; and the development of the Ballarat Welcome Centre.

Tai Snaith: A World of One's Own
Exhibition floor talk at 3pm. Then exhibition is open daily until August 4.
This exhibition of mixed media works is based on a series of podcast conversations between artist Tai Snaith and mid-career and emerging artists whom she admires.

Rob Snarski at Lost Ones Basement Bar
14 Camp Street, Ballarat at 8.30pm. Cost is $31.50 and booking fee via website.
Melbourne-based musician Rob Snarski is as well-known for his solo work as his large body of work fronting beloved Australian band The Blackeyed Susans, along with being a hired gun guest vocalist with The Triffids and more recently The Go-Betweens 16 Lover's Lane shows.
Having garnered a following since he commenced his musical career some decades ago Rob's stage presence coupled with his rich velvet toned vocals are legendary. His gigs are both memorable and intimate.

Come and watch Stella Savy Avek Frers and Candi Wade belt out some original tunes before the Ballarat musicians head to Africa for a few weeks.
Creswick market
Every third Saturday of the month between 9am and 1pm.
Free live music and more than 90 specialist boutique sites, offering a variety of unique locally made goods ranging from arts and crafts to freshly made delicacies, something for everyone. Talk directly to producers and designers, learn about the ingredients and processes that brought the item to you.
The market features gourmet take away food and great coffee, live music, kids' entertainment and playground, beautiful gardens, historic township to explore, hand-made arts, crafts, jewellery, clothes, home-grown fruit, vegetables, plants and other produce.
Smythesdale market
Every third Saturday of the month between 9am and 1pm.
A small country market with free parking and free entry. The market in hosted in the Historic Precinct at Smythesdale. There's also a sausage sizzle and a small cafe. All profits go towards maintaning the Historic buildings and grounds.

Sunday
Ballarat Centre of Music and the Arts (BCMA) Mid-year festival
Buninyong Golf Club between 10.30am and 5pm.
BCMA will be hosting its fabulous mid-year festival at the Buninyong Golf course, come along be entertained. Six-and-a-half hours of non-stop entertainment by the talented BCMA students. There will be food, there will be fun and all proceeds go towards the 2019 BCMA productions.
Write Club
Racers Bar and Cafe at Lake Wendouree between 2pm and 5pm. Free.
Ballarat Writers hosts Write Club - a chance to get out of the house and devote an afternoon to your writing, with great coffee and industrious company. There is time for chatting between writing sessions, but the emphasis is on getting words down.
Bring your favourite writing implements - check that the laptop is fully charged (there are limited powerpoints) and don't forget the spare pens/pencils!
Ballarat market

The market is a fun day out with stalls laden with second hand wares, hand-made crafts, home-grown plants and vegetables, sweet treats, food stalls and trestles of toys, trinkets, trash and treasure.
Talbot market
Every third Sunday of the month between 9am and 1pm.
The tiny town of Talbot, about 40 minutes north of Ballarat, comes alive on market day as thousands of visitors enjoy the vibrant village atmosphere of the Talbot Farmers Market.
Explore the stall lined streets displaying an impressive range of seasonal fruit and organic vegetables, local artisan cheese, fresh bread, local wine, gourmet oils, delicious delicacies and more. In true country farmers' market style you will also chickens, stockfeed, cut flowers, plants and seedlings.
