Prepare for a tantalising taste of world cuisine at Nazareth House Hall next week, as the House of Welcome Ballarat prepares for its annual luncheon - part of the events put on for Refugee Week.

Among those at the event will be Mary Bukjiok, who came to Ballarat from South Sudan. She will be giving a special demonstration on preparing couscous from her own region.
There will also be three guest speakers, Anna Krohn, Anne Foley and Deruka Dekeuk on the theme of "Women of Ballarat".
Local basketball star Deng Acouth will be there with free passes to Miners games for local school children.
Catering to up to 100 people, the annual event is supported many volunteers, among them the pupils of St Alipius Primary School. Nuer Dancers will also be entertaining diners.

Refugee Week events
Events take place throughout Refugee Week, which runs from June 15 to June 22.
Among the highlights are: a Civic Flag Raising Ceremony (11-11.30am, June 17)
Welcome Film Festival ($20, Welcome Centre, 25-39 Barkly Street, 8.15pm, June 21)
Three-course Nepalese Banquet at Ballarat South Community Hub ($40, 6pm, June 22).
