The Rangers scored a big 7-1 win over Ballarat on Sunday, while United reversed the result on Sebastopol Vikings from early in the season with a 2-1 success at home.
For United, Owen Turbitt netted a brace which included the winner in the 76th minute.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Alexander Chester scored four goals and Josh Huggett a hat-trick as Ballarat North United beat Creswick 10-0, Maryborough and Forest Rangers drew 0-0 and Victoria Park defeated Bacchus Marsh 3-2.
In women's division one, top side Ballarat snuck home with a 1-0 win over Forest Rangers and Ballarat North United beat Vic Park 10-0.
