Men's senior coach Alex Spittle told The Courier ahead of the club's registration and information day on Sunday gridiron is a perfect sport for athletes who are finishing up in their respective winder sport and want to continue their fitness or try an entirely new sport.
"We're looking for people who are finishing up playing footy or soccer or any sport really," he said.
The start of the 2019 season has been pushed back to the end of August to help those playing winter sports finish their seasons.
"Our season has been moved back to accommodate those athletes who want to continue their fitness."
The Falcons started their pre-season training in early May and Spittle is happy with the early interest the club has received so far our from the start of the season.
"Preseason has been pretty good so far, we've got a number of guys returning who played a big role in us reaching the finals.
"Numbers-wise, we're looking at 20-25 people coming to our mid-week training sessions but we're always looking to get more people involved and coming down."
Of those coming down to training with some regularity, Spittle has been most pleased with the fresh faces on display who were not active within the club in 2018.
At the moment we're looking at around five or six new faces which has been really nice to see.

"We want to see this club continue to grow and improve and bringing in new blood to the team always helps to do that."
To those who may be interested in trying out the sport but don't know the rules or are intimidated by the game, Spittle says the club is more than happy to teach them how to play from the ground up.
"You don't need to know anything about the sport because we will teach you everything you need to know. Gridiron is such a unique and special sport because it accommodates people of all shapes and sizes.
"If you're a big full-forward playing footy or a tall centre playing basketball there's a spot for you and if you a short quick winger playing soccer we're got a spot for you."
Ballarat Gridiron are holding a training, registration and information day on Sunday afternoon at Marty Busch Reserve and are encouraging anyone interested in getting involved with the sport to come down and inquire within the club.
