Ballarat City's Leighton and Jordan Lauton faced-off against older brother Brandon in their clash with Melbourne Victory in the National Premier league two competition.
It was the first time ever the three teenagers had shared a soccer pitch at an organised level.
"It was tough playing against him, he is a good player. But it's always fun playing against family," 17-year-old Leighton said following the match.
The match-up came as a thrill for the brothers who didn't expect to encounter each other so soon in their careers.
Despite the close bond between the three, no love was lost once the whistle was blown with 16-year-old Jordan laying a good stiff tackle on his brother the first chance he got.
"In the backyard when we'd play and we'd always want to win," he said.
Originally from Ballarat, 19-year-old Brandon left the city two-years ago to pursue soccer at a high level.
Known for his sleek ball skills, Brandon has a knack for dribbling while Leighton and Jordan prefer to score goals and defend.
With the match ending in a nil-all draw, father of the three brothers Dale Lauton couldn't have been prouder of his sons.
"It was good to see the three of them playing," he said.
"I thought about all the coaches that coached them through juniors, they put in long hours and I was very thankful to them."
