Shayne Adam Petkovic allegedly attended the Musk home on January 17, 2017, to confront the victim over a woman they both knew.
The victim told the 13-person jury in Ballarat on Wednesday he was making his lunch when he heard banging on his front door and realised it was Petkovic.
He said Petkovic told him he was going to kill him if he went near the woman again, before he grabbed the front door handle and entered the house.
"He grabbed me, abused me then swung a punch and hit me in the temple. I believe he struck me again," the victim said.
"I tried to grab hold of him to stop the punching, to stop the violence. It moved through into the laundry area."
The victim told the jury the wrestle continued in the laundry, they fell and broke the ironing board and fell into a door and wall.
He said Petkovic placed his forearm over his Adam's apple and told him he was a "sad, lonely old man" and if he ever went near the woman he would kill him.
The jury was told Petkovic eventually left the Musk house, while the victim drove to the Daylesford Police Station to report the incident.
During cross-examination, defence barrister Cynthia Lynch put to the victim he lied about how the fight started.
"You pushed him backwards, threw a punch at him," Ms Lynch said, to which the victim replied, "incorrect".
"This business about (Petkovic) putting pressure on your Adam's apple is a lie." The victim replied with "no".
Petkovic faces nine charges stemming from the incident, including four counts of making a threat to kill, two counts each of intentionally causing injury and recklessly causing injury and one count of aggravated burglary.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The trial before Judge Michael McInerney will continue on Thursday.
