A MAN is in a serious but stable condition tonight in Royal Melbourne Hospital after a motorcyclist crash in Lexton this afternoon.

The motorcyclist, aged in his 60s, was air-lifted to the hospital after hitting a tree along the Lexton-Talbot Road, near Leys Road about 3.15pm.
The man has sustained serious lower body injuries.
Emergency services were on the scene with paramedics treating the man before moving him to a nearby paddock for the air ambulance, which reach the hospital by 6pm.
Police closed one lane to trafffic until late afternoon.
The Courier understands the man had been out riding with others before the incident occurred.
