The AFL Goldfields tribunal imposed the penalty after finding him guilty of rough conduct against Darley at Bacchus Marsh on Saturday, June 8.
Burton was charged after an investigation into a tackle he put on Andrew Azzopardi, which left the Darley youngster concussed.
Burton, who is the reigning Ballarat Football League best and fairest, was offered a set two-match ban after the investigation found he had a case to answer and led to a charge being laid.

Bacchus Marsh general manager Adam Sunderland said Burton had chosen not take the set suspension and instead take it to a hearing at Melton on Tuesday night.
Burton pleaded not guilty.
Sunderland said Burton was stunned by the verdict and penalty.
He said the club was looking at the possibility of taking the case to an AFL Victoria appeals hearing and had until Thursday afternoon to make a decision.
Losing Burton to suspension comes at a crucial time in the season for the Cobras.
Already missing star onballer Jacob Chisari, who is overseas, Bacchus Marsh is facing a major challenge to play finals.
After losing to Sebastopol on Saturday, it now faces major tests against reigning premier East Point at the Eastern Oval this week and top side Redan at home in three rounds - assignments which will be all the tougher without Burton and no obvious replacement to lead the ruck.
