Victoria Police confirmed the driver of the mobility scooter, a 95-year-old Maryborough man, was airlifted to hospital but died on arrival.
The collision occurred on the corner of Inkerman Street and Clarendon Street, Maryborough about 2.55pm.
UPDATE: A 95-year-old man has been airlifted to Melbourne after his mobility scooter and a car collided in Maryborough this afternoon.
The man sustained life-threatening injuries, police say.
The driver of the car was not injured.
Police are investigating the cause of the collision and the investigation is ongoing.

EARLIER: A MAN has been taken to hospital in a critical condition following a crash in Maryborough.
Paramedics were called to an address in following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.
The man has been taken to the Maryborough and District Hospital with a head injury.
An air ambulance has landed in town, the Highway Patrol's Senior Constable Paul Schroeder said.
The VicEmergency website has located the incident at the corner of Inkerman Street and Clarendon Street.
