MEDIA personality Deborah Hutton was in Ballarat yesterday to host an event for the region’s women in business.The Australian Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry forum was held at the Alexandria on Lydiard.Business continuity planning experts Jodi Wentworth, from Origin, and Julie Viney, from RiskLogic, spoke to about 30 women about how they could prepare their businesses to survive disruptions.Click to view photos from the eventBusiness owners from Ballarat, Horsham, Maryborough and Melbourne attended the event.Ms Hutton said the forum was the first of a series set to take place across Australia.“Ballarat is the first, then Byron Bay, and then Mackay and Darwin,” she said.Australian Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO Yolanda Vega said the forums were about making sure women had the tools to help them develop their businesses.“It’s important for us as a chamber to make sure there are programs in place to help women be successful,” Ms Vega said.
