Paul Coghlan did not even apply for bail in court on Monday morning, remaining in the cells as his case was briefly heard.
He will next appear in court on September 19, when he will be facing at least six charges.
EARLIER: A man who is accused of pulling a woman out of her car and trying to steal it in broad daylight will appear in court today.
Police say the 38-year-old man tried to pull a woman out of her car near Howitt Street about 12pm on Sunday.
He tried to start the car, before a member of the public intervened and pulled the offending man out of the vehicle.
The 68-year-old victim sustained minor injuries.
The man was charged with carjacking, robbery, theft, assault and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.
He has been remanded to appear at Ballarat Magistrates' Court this morning.
