Dunnstown made it three wins on end with a hard-fought success at Ballan.
The Towners banged through three goals early in the second term and that proved decisive in the 21-point triumph.
Matt Auchettl was named best for the winners, which had Matt Bulluss boot two goals.
Ballan coach Tristan Batten said he was disappointed that his side didn't take enough risks in the last term.
"The way it was with the breeze, it was so scrappy and just like a revolving wall of players. We just needed to take risks to try and win the game," he said.
Bongart brothers Austin and Harley were standouts for the Blues.

Dunstan now has 55 majors in season 2019, 22 less than the league-leading Marcus Darmody from Newlyn.
Hepburn coach Clive Raak said a blanket could be thrown across the whole team for best players on Saturday. In the end, Tommy Horne and Julian Lockwood were named the standouts, while Jack Fowler was another to rate a mention from the coach.
Grasshoppers joint-coach Damon Delaney was pleased with his side's effort, but admitted the hosts were outclassed by the Burras.
Rokewood-Corindhap now has the bye before three winnable games to close out the campaign.
"We need to finish the way we started," he said.

Gordon plowed through the tough conditions at Clunes to land a big win over the battling Magpies.
The Eagles were a class above the home side in a 101-point triumph.
Gordon coach Ron Watt was pleased with the display.
"It was good to have a good win without Adam Toohey and Brendan Sutcliffe kicking too many goals. It was good to share it around a bit," Watt said.
Zack Ryan, Luke Gunnell, Matt Hoy and Ethan Crackel were among the best for the Eagles, which gave young Connor Ascough a senior debut. He booted a goal in his first senior game.
Clunes coach Johno Leoncini, who went down the water slide for the club's major MND fundraiser after the game, was disappointed in his side's performance.
"You put on such a great day like that and (we were) just not up to the standard that we should be," he said.
Leoncini also reported injuries to Nic Clarke (adductor), Reagan Maddaford (groin), Luke Saligari (head knock).

A goal in the second quarter from Jarrod Trigg was enough to get Beaufort over the line against Creswick on Saturday.
Trigg's major - following a free kick - was the only one the reigning premiers could manage in one of the lowest-scoring matches in Central Highlands Football League history.
Pat Taranto booted Creswick's only goal in the third term, but it wasn't enough as the Crows recorded a 1.6 (12) to 1.3 (9) success.
"I've never been involved in a game like that before," Beaufort coach Rohan Brown said.
In some more good news for Crows fans, Saturday saw a successful return to senior football for Jacob Garvey, who had off-season wrist surgery.
Creswick coach Ryan Knowles said it was a tough game with high pressure from both sides.
"We probably had 90 per cent of the ball in our forward line in the last quarter and a bit, but they just stopped us from scoring...," he said.
Sam Gibson continued his great 2019 form and was named the Wickers' best, while Mitchell Jenkins was rated the Crows' standout.

Jarrod Morgan was chaired off the ground a winner after his 250th senior game for Buninyong on Saturday.
Morgan was one of the Bombers' best in the win over Learmonth, which also had Paul Rogan play his 250th.
"The boys seem really happy and are training hard and working hard for each other on the Saturday," Buninyong coach Shaun O'Loughlin said on the back of his side's eighth-straight win.
Learmonth coach Nick Willox rated Saturday's conditions as the worst he's ever played in.
Despite the defeat, Willox was pleased with aspects of the team's performance.
"A lot of the younger guys really came to the forefront and started to play a bit more mature, which is good to see," he said.
"A few of the classier Bombers stood up for them and we couldn't kick goals."

Newlyn captured the Pride Cup in the clash with Daylesford on Saturday.
The two sides celebrated diversity and inclusion and wore special playing strips featuring rainbow colours.
The Cats were far too polished for the Bulldogs and eventually ran out 86-point winners.
Newlyn forward Marcus Darmody booted six goals to take his season tally to 77, while Steve Clifton dominated in a top display from the onballer.
"We played a really good patch in the second quarter and kicked six goals in about seven or eight minutes. Then we had another good patch in the last quarter. Both (patches) were when we had the wind," Newlyn joint-coach Dan Wehrung said.
"We did enough but weren't fantastic by any means."
Michael Cummings was named best for the Bulldogs.

Billy Driscoll took the reins and led Springbank to a 67-point success against Carngham-Linton.
With senior coach Joe Otto away on overseas travel and his round 12 replacement Michael Searl unavailable, it was left to Driscoll to steer the ship at Snake Valley.
And the Tigers made light work of the Saints to record their seventh win in succession.
Joel Maher and Todd Finco led the way for the Tigers, while Brodie Doolan and Lachlan Isbister were good for the home side.
Saints onballer Joel Radlof was taken to hospital at half time after complaining he had lost feeling in one of his arms.
Carngham-Linton football manager Greg Spratling said Radlof spent the night in hospital and would undergo more tests to determine the cause of the issue.
