It was a slow start for the Rush as the Tigers brought tremendous defensive energy to the game, opening up an early eight-point lead.
Watch the Rush celebrate in front of its fans at the Minerdome:
Ballarat were able to fight back, picking up its effort on both ends of the court to take a 17-16 lead into the first break.
The game remained tight across the second quarter with neither team able to open up a lead beyond five points.
Rush centre Joy Burke was having a dominate impact on the game but saw limited minutes due to foul trouble. She would finish the game with 13 points and 10 rebounds in just over 12 minutes of play.
The Rush were able to hold onto its lead during the second and third quarter on the back of some stellar play from American imports Chanise Jenkins and Olivia Hackmann. The duo combined for 43 points and 20 rebounds in the contest.
