The two sides have met once previously this season, with the Lions winning by 12 goals at home.
Ballarat's goalers Rachel Grawich and Lydia Jordan scorched the net in the game, connecting on 86 per cent of their shots.
It was not enough as Lions' goal shooter Amanda Cusack nearly outscored the duo on her own, registering 43 goals in the 59-47 victory.
A win for the Swans would go a long way in solidifying its position in the top-six five weeks out of finals.
Currently tied for fifth place with Melton South and sitting one win ahead of seventh-placed Bacchus Marsh, a strong performance from Ballarat would send a message to the rest of the competition that the Swans are a team to watch come finals.
The Lions on the other hand are simply looking to keep its recent form going, having won its past four outings.
Elsewhere East Point will look to break its string of losses against the Bloods. Undefeated through 11 rounds, the Roos have lost back-to-back games over the past two weeks.
Darley will host Melton South while Bacchus Marsh, Lake Wendouree and North Ballarat City all enjoy the weekend off with a bye.
