Ball overcame a third-place finish in round one to win the final two rounds of the elite men category at Black Hill Mountain Bike Park.
The 18-year-old edged out hometown favorite Travis Dawkins by two seconds to clinch the overall series in round three on Sunday.
"It was a pretty good feeling to be honest, I haven't really won a big event like that before and it was my first time being up on the podium," he said.
"I was pretty nervous, but the good thing about the King of Ballarat series is that everyone is so friendly, and just being able to chat with everyone at the top of the hill really brings the pressure down."
The victory surprised the Ringwood rider who entered the final round trailing Dawkins by eight competition points. He knew it would take nothing short of his best to overcome the Ballarat local on his home track.
"I knew that I had to win the round to beat him, and I felt the pressure but managed to get it done on the day," he said.
"My first run was a nice, consistent, clean run. On the second I thought I could probably push a little harder and I managed to improve by just under a second."
It was the first series crown for Ball who competed in the B Grade category at the 2018 KOB.
He said the win would be a great confidence booster ahead of future competitions.
Meanwhile Ballarat's Tori Bilney finished second overall in the elite women category behind Jessica Sheridan.
Other overall winners included Jack Atchison who won the expert men category. Riley Hendrickson and Elly Hawker took out the sport men and women categories.
Daniel Brooks headed-up the over-35, while Lukas Kessler won the under-17 category and Asher Darlison was crowned overall winner of the under-15 group.
