Following a near decade long rebuild, Gordon is on the brink of appearing in the Central Highlands Netball League A grade competition finals. A win over Carngham-Linton at home on Saturday would secure a finals spot for the Eagles and coach Rhonda Best did not play down the importance of the potential victory.

"I think it's really important for the club," she said.
"We've been transitioning for the last few years but if the girls can get the job done and we can push into the finals we'll definitely have a lot of support from the wider community."
Despite losing four A grade players from 2018, the Eagles new-look team has put together eight wins from its 14 games in 2019. Best heaped praise on her group for its ability to adjust and gel to whatever situation it has been put in.
"I've been really impressed, we've gone through a rebuilding phase over the past 10 years but the girls have gelled really well together - they've worked out each other's playing style and approach to the game."
Best says it is hard to single out individual players as major contributors to the Eagles success, however believes the development of the team's young players has been a massive positive this season.
"We've had a couple of juniors playing in the senior team... the likes of Georgia Martin have been contributing well. I think Lily Brennan has brought a lot to the side both training wise and game wise in terms of her direction across the court... I think she's been a really solid leader for us."
While the Eagles are coming up against the lower-placed Saints at the weekend, Best ensured her side will not be complacent and will bring it's best effort.
"We've come up against other teams in the past where we though we may have had an easy win and they've really tested us. It's really important that we go in with the right mindset and knowing that it is anyone's game."
Elsewhere Bungaree will also look to lock itself into a finals appearance, needing a win over the Tigers on the road to secure its spot in the post-season.
Waubra, Dunnstown and Newlyn will all need wins against Buninyong, Daylesford and Skipton respectively as well as a loss from the Demons or Eagles to keep its finals hopes alive. Top two sides Learmonth and Hepburn will aim to keep up momentum with wins over the Crows and Magpies respectively and the Hoppers hosts Ballan.
