The proposed new building would have space for six new medical practitioners, covering myotherapy (physical therapy which focuses on musculo-skeletal pain), podiatry, acupuncture, chiropractors, and massage therapy.

The two-storey building would be located at 605 Howitt Street in Soldiers Hill, a largely residential part of the city. It is a general residential zone under the current planning scheme.

There is currently a residential property standing on the site, which is sandwiched between a Jehovahs Witness Hall on one side and a largely disused tool manufacturing business on the other.

The Selkirk Brick factory lies across the road.

A permit would be required for its use as a medical centre as well as a planning permit to build in a residential zone.

The plans detail proposals for six consulting rooms and five treatment rooms.

The total floor area of the building planned is 486.37 square metres. The overall proposed height is 8.3 metres, while the building would be set back a little over six metres from Howitt Street.

There is no new fence planned for the front part of the property while a colorbond fence would be installed on other boundaries.

There would be a total of 14 car parking spaces.

On the planning application, it says there would be no impact on the adjoining properties or the surrounding area.
