While breaking a lengthy league drought, Darmody has become the Cats' first senior century goal-kicker in the CHFL.
Newlyn's big win saw it remain third on the ladder and now equal on points with second-placed Buninyong and top team Waubra.
The Bombers sent a massive statement to the competition with a 41-point triumph over the Roos on Saturday.
After going 14 rounds unbeaten, it was Waubra's second-straight loss.
Hepburn's Sam Dunstan also looks a chance for a 100-goal season after booting 10 on Saturday in the victory against Clunes.
Dunstan is now on 90 majors with one home and away round to play before finals.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Springbank beat Bungaree, Rokewood-Corindhap defeated Ballan, Beaufort thrashed Learmonth, Dunnstown got home by 11 points in a struggle with Daylesford and Gordon belted Carngham-Linton.
