The Mt Clear sprinter claimed the crown for Australia’s richest women’s footrace at Stonnington earlier this year, and now she will vie for the marquee women’s title on professional running’s biggest stage.
Domaschenz will seek to cap off an impressive Victorian Athletic League season that has included a 70m open title at Ballarat, the 400m women’s title at Burramine in February and a long string of top-two finishes across varying sprint distances.
She is marked as one of the VAL’s strongest women athletes this season.
The Peter O’Dwyer-trained sprinter will start off seven metres in heat seven as one of four Ballarat contenders in the Women’s Gift at Central Park.
Her sister Nadia (10m) will race alongside Durham Lead’s Kate Jones (10.75m) in heat six and Ballarat youngster Holly Dobbyn will race off 10m in heat two.
Dobbyn will lead out from Australian international sprinter Melissa Breen, who will race off scratch.
