REGIONAL towns close to Ballarat are reveling in the winter chill as the cold snap which has descended on south-eastern Australia moves into its third day.
Towns such as Daylesford woke up to a near blanket of snow this morning as these pictures sent in by reader Katie Adamson show.
And there's every chance there will be a bit more snow to come in the next 48 hours with temperatures expected to hover below 10 degrees until at least Monday.

Ballarat is today going for a top temperature of just seven degrees with showers on and off throughout the day.
Sunday will remain cold with just eight degrees forecast before the sun is likely to come out on Monday, but temperatures will remain cool with just 10 degrees forecast.
Since the cold snap began on Thursday, Ballarat has so far received 37.4mm of rain, right on half the August monthly average.
