Only the order in which they finish is to be decided with two home and away rounds to play.
Darley extinguished North Ballarat City's fnals hopes at Mars Stadium on Saturday - getting away with a decisive third term to score by 21 points.
The only certainty inside the top six is that top side East Point will finish in the top two.
A bye in the last round guarantees the Roos a minimum 52 premiership points and with their superior percentage second in the lowest they will finish.
East Point was the only side in the top six not to change position in round 14.
Redan moved up two places to second, while Melton and Darley climbed tw spots.
Sebastopol and Sunbury were the big losers, falling three places.
As close as the battle at the top is, East Point can rightly calim premiership favouritism after out-classing Sebastopol by 42 points.
The Burra closed within two goals early in the third quarter, but the Roos withstood the challenge in the top -of-the-table clash at Marty Busch Reserve and then kicked away in the last term.
Melton grabbed an early advantage into the wind against Sunbury at MacPherson Park and always held sway on the way to an 18-point win - undoubtedly its most important of the year.
The loss keeps a question mark over Sunbury when playing away from home, something it will need to address in the finals.
Redan defeated Melton South by 54 points at Melton and was rewarded with second position and Lake Wendouree resisted a late challenge to hold off Bacchus Marsh by 12 points at CE Brown Reserve.
