The Falcons meet Northern Raiders at Bundoora in their first of 12 games in the 13-team competition.
Just two of their games will be in Ballarat - at Alfredton Reserve.
They meet South Eastern Predators as part of a doubleheader on Sunday, September 29, with Bendigo Dragons to also meet Melbourne Universarity at the venue.
Ballarat's last regular season game against Western Crusaders will also be at home on Saturday, November 9.
The Falcons are looking to build on their finals appearances last season, having started pre-season training under coach Mark Spittle in May
Ballarat will also be part of a doubleheader at MacPherson Park at Melton when it plays Geelong Buccaneers on Saturday, September 21, and Melton Wolves on Saturday, October 19.
The season is starting later than usual in the hope attracting players from other football codes played in winter.
