Nicholas Lee, 31, appeared in the Ballarat Magistrates Court on Friday afternoon to face 30 charges, including resisting police, destroying a car by arson, dealing with the proceeds of crime and trespassing.

His alleged offending stretches from April 10 this year. The man's charge sheets state on August 1, Lee allegedly drove at a police officer, placing that person in danger of serious injury, at Broomfield.

On Thursday this week, the same day as his arrest, he allegedly resisted two police officers.

Police have previously confirmed Lee was the subject of a manhunt on August 2, which saw packs of plain-clothes police officers searching Soldiers Hill drains and a police helicopter patrolling the skies.

Police from the Ballarat Divisional Response Unit have alleged Lee burnt out a Ford Utility on Alkera Road, Invermay on July 26. The police have also alleged the car was a proceed of crime.

The alleged victim of the car arson, Luke Dridan, is the father of 12-year-old Blake Dridan who has severe aplastic anaemia, a disorder where the body fails to produce enough blood cells.

Lee appeared in the dock on Friday with his mussed hair sticking up. He was wearing a blue and white flannel shirt over a red top.

Lee's defence lawyer James McKenzie told the court his client would not be applying for bail, and police had charged him for a significant amount of alleged offending.

"There's quite a lot of charges before the court ... I think it would be appropriate if he appeared by video link."

Lee indicated to the court he opposed applications by the media to see his detailed charge sheets, but Magistrate Letizia Torres granted access.

Lee will return to the Ballarat court in October.
