A plaque acknowledging survivors abused by a CFA station officer during the 1970s and 1980s will be unveiled on Saturday.

It will be placed at Ballarat Fire Station on Barkly Street as part of an event organised by survivors, local advocates and the Ballarat Brigade to "formally recognise what took place."
The announcement of the plaque puts the CFA on the front foot in acknowledging victims of historical child sexual abuse.
Ribbons were tied to the fence at the Ballarat Fire Brigade to honour former CFA station officer Ivor Harvey's victims.
The CFA says that has since had to be removed for safety reasons but a plaque will now be added to the new fence alongside a section of the old as a symbol of the survivors' strength and resilience.
Brigade Captain Mark Cartledge told The Courier last month that the Ballarat Fire Brigade had worked closely with survivors in planning the event.
"The brigade recognises the historical incidents as a sad and regrettable part of the history of the brigade," he said in a statement.
"The unveiling of the plaque and new fence will permanently acknowledge the wrongdoings into the future.
"I would like to thank the survivors and CFA for the support they have given the brigade throughout the process."
