UPDATE 7.20pm: A woman in her 40s has been transported to Ballarat Base Hospital in a stable condition after a car rollover west of Buangor on the Western Highway this evening.
It is understood the woman's car was the only car involved in a rollover which happened just after 6pm.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said initially the air ambulance was dispatched to the scene, but was turned around.
The woman's injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Emergency crews are still clearing the scene.
EARLIER: EMERGENCY services are on the scene of what is understood to be a serious single-vehicle accident on the Western Highway near Buangor.
It is understood a car has rolled on the highway near Colonial Road, just to the west of Buangor, about 2km from Dobie.
One female patient is reported to be trapped upside in a car in a tree and is being assessed by the ambulance and SES who are working to free the person.
The highway has been closed in both directions and vehicles are being asked to avoid the area if possible.
