How is it that Ballarat doesn't have enough parking? I went to use the dog park on Dowling Street when the AFL game was being played at Mars Stadium. When I got there all of the parking for the stadium and around the dog park were full.

But no one was in the dog park, they were all at the game. I went to ask a council employee working near by why I couldn't park when it's first-in, best-dressed.
I told him that I only wanted to use the dog park I was given the same answer and when I enquired about making a complaint he told me to move on or the police will be called to forcibly remove me.
I pay the dog registration fee, what does that pay for if not the use of the dog park of my choice when I want to use it? What happened to park and ride?
Why should I have to park away from the dog park and walk there, only to go back because someone attending the AFL game parked in front of the only gates that allow entry to the dog park?
Why should I have to go to the other side of the city to used one of the only two or three fenced dog parks?
Is someone really going to say that with all of areas the city has used for events parking that they couldn't do that this time?
Sam Ferris, Ballarat
