The Miners will host an international exhibition match-up against the Taiwanese NCCU Griffins from Taiwan at the MARS Minerdome on Saturday.
Ballarat Miners youth assistant coach Ryan McKew said the match was an opportunity to begin early preparation for next season.
"These matches keep the guys engaged with what we are trying to do," he said.
"The guys had a really successful season this year, so this is a chance for us all to stay engaged and involved."
McKew said this was the first time the Miners youth program will host an international team in Ballarat. He said the team was excited to be involved in the monumental occasion.
"That final game here at the Minerdome, where we got a chance to cut down the net was unbelievable, so we are very excited to come back," he said.
McKew said not a lot was known about the Miners' Taiwanese opponents, only that they had some big players which might be tough to handle. He hoped to see the community attend in support.
Ballarat Miners youth and NBL1 point guard Zach Dunmore said it would be interesting to see how the team goes without big-man Amos Brooks.
"I'm excited, I haven't played against an international team before, so it's pretty cool to play against a team from Taiwan," he said.
The match will start at 7pm on Saturday.
