The end result could have been very different, however three final round forfeits meant Bertram and runner up Marilyn Elder from Gisborne who finished on 18 points didn't have a chance to get extra points.
AFL Goldfields Commissioner Sue Brown spoke earlier in the evening about how her and the league would endeavor to make sure forfeits like these are a thing of the past in the coming years.
Paige Scott from Carisbrook ran away with the Ballarat Football league U18 best and fairest award, finishing six votes in front of runner-up Tahlia Meier from Lake Wendouree.
Nicole Steward from Gisborne won the U18 best and fairest for the Riddell and District Football League, taking out three votes in the final round to finish two votes ahead of Amber Mifsud from Bacchus Marsh.
